Hi everyone! I’m Sue O’Reilly and I have been interested in Mary Magdalene for about 10 years after I realized that she was Jesus’ best friend. How awesome do you have to be to be that! I have been to France on Mary Magdalene pilgrimage but I am not really a believer in Mary Magdalene legends from southern France. Also, I prefer the canonical Mary Magdalene to the “Gnostic“ Mary Magdalene.

I'm with you Sue! Nowhere is Magdalene as accessible and meaningful to me as in the Gospel of John (which, some scholars say, came out of her circle). But part of that may be because that's what we grew up with. Certainly the Gospel of Mary is growing on me, the more time I spend with it, and it is quite different from other apocryphal gospels.
Some of us may want to spend a week or two using our 'friendly study method' on the Gospel of John. On the other hand, if we are signed up with Kayleen's program, like David and I are, we get to spend time with the canonical Magdalene there.

@Ella Rozett Yes, this friendly study method may work well with the Gospel of John. I have started to do that on my own along with some of the other (brief) Mary Magdalene references in the Synoptic Gospels. Kayleen introduced us to the Gospel of the Beloved Companion which the translator claims is older than the Gospel of John, was written by Mary Magdalene, and was the basis for John’s Gospel And the Gospel of Mary. While I believe that is not true, it is certainly an interesting read and amazing to hear John’s Gospel and the Gospel of Mary in the voice of Mary Magdalene. It adds a power to the text that I didn’t think was possible.

Hello! I am Amelia and I live in southeast Michigan in the United States. I first read Mary Magdalene's Gospel in the book "The Luminous Gospels" and have been learning more about her and the Divine Feminine ever since. We had a women's circle that studied and discussed the Gospel in a similar way to what we will be doing together, and I look forward to what will be a deep and enriching exploration!

Namaste. I am a Scot living in the Himalayas now and known as Nikita Didi. Jean bought the teaching to my ken and invited me to join. Everything happens for a reason and once I started to really know that anxiety and fear disappeared and my consciousness began to grow. Born in sixty three and Christened I have spent my life curious, lost and with know idea what religion I was or am part of. All is my conclusion. Once I had taken refugee in Buddhism it seems rather than confirm me as a Buddhist it has shown me a path to see my faults more clearly and grow in acceptance with an enriched awareness of how and who
I am. I still have a very firey Scottish temperament as Jean can attest to, but I am far more in control. I voice my opinions to learn and am neither afraid to be wrong or challenge anyone. Its a beautiful Sunday morning here in giant mountains foothills. Love to all
My name is Ann Sayas, and I am from New Orleans. I became aware of Mary Magdalene through fiction in the works of Katherine McGowan and Dan Brown. Kayleen Asbo led me to consider the spiritual message of Mary Magdalene through many Zoom experiences. I became aware of Ella and David's study group through her International Conference on Mary Magdalene. I am excited to probe deeply the Gospel of Mary with fellow participants in this study group.

Hello, friends. I’m Ginger Meek Allen, a goldsmith, writer, artist, and mother of four young women in North Carolina USA. Through my work at the jeweler’s bench, I create talismans to help connect the wearer to their highest good. My husband and I are active in a retreat ministry here called Cedar Cross with a 52-acre forested sanctuary where folks come for rest, reflection, and renewal. I discovered Mary Magdalene’s gospel in 2018, and I have been steeping myself ever since in the Divine Feminine and a fresh understanding of my own Christian faith tradition. I look forward to our journey together in this lenten season.
Here are a few photos of Cedar Cross and my work.

Hi friends, like David I consider myself Christian on the foundation of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, which I studied and practiced for 10 years before joining the Catholic Church. While David's main 'Gate to Heaven', teacher, and inspiration is Mary Magdalene, mine is Mother Mary. We aim to be one 'holy family' "on earth as it is in heaven". Jean here,
So fortunate to be part of this group studying the Divine feminine through the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.
Hands reach out across time and space as members from all over the world share these teachings.
David and Ella invited me to dip my toes into these waters of wisdom and I've been swimming ever since.
Thank you 💕

Hello fellow study group participants! I'm David , and together with Ella Rozett we will be facilitating this online study group. We live on a houseboat in Southampton England, where I am a member of the local Quaker meeting. I also have a long background in Tibetan Buddhism, having studied and practised with Ringu Tulku Rinpoche for over twenty years. I only discovered The Gospel of Mary in February 2021, but have been making up for lost time since then! I look forward to meeting you all online very soon.
